BigArena opens its sixth warehouse in Europe — launch in Thessaloniki, Greece

In early August we opened our sixth logistics hub in Europe — near Thessaloniki, Greece. With it, our network now serves 27+ markets and more than 20 million processed shipments for nearly 1,000 online stores. Here's what the new location brings and why we chose Greece.

The new warehouse in numbers

  • Location: industrial zone of Thessaloniki (Greece)
  • Area: 1,200 sqm with roughly 500 pallet positions
  • Capacity: up to 80,000 shipments per month
  • Launch: early August 2026
  • Investment: around 150,000 EUR
  • Team: starting with 4 people; reaching 14 by early 2027
  • 15+ companies are already preparing operations from the new hub

Why Greece?

Greece is a natural next step for us. The market is comparatively underserved by Western European fulfillment partners, while local consumers expect responsive local logistics. We see an opportunity to help online merchants enter the Greek market with lower operational risk and without having to build warehousing infrastructure themselves.

We're starting with a base that can scale in line with how our clients actually grow. That's our usual approach: we add capacity when the volumes demand it — not before.

Courier integrations in Greece

For domestic deliveries we work with the four main local couriers: ELTA (the national postal network), Geniki Taxidromiki, BoxNow (for parcel lockers) and ACS. Our clients pick a courier per order based on product type, delivery time and price — with no extra fees for switching.

Our own transport connects Thessaloniki directly with Sofia (our central hub) and Plovdiv — stock can move between our facilities without a cross-border transfer.

How it fits into our network

With Greece added, we now operate 6 owned warehousing centers across 6 countries:

  • Sofia — the company's central hub
  • Plovdiv — regional warehouse, expanding to 9,000+ sqm in two phases
  • Slovakia — gateway to Central and Western Europe
  • Romania — Oradea, the largest market in the Balkans
  • Serbia — Belgrade, for non-EU markets
  • Greece — Thessaloniki, our newest hub

The network now covers more than 13,500 sqm and serves 27+ European markets — from Scandinavia and the Baltics to the Balkans and the Western Mediterranean. Over the last 12 months we processed more than 20 million shipments for nearly 1,000 online stores.

What's next

By the end of 2026 we're opening a warehouse in Spain. Same approach: a local base, integration with local couriers, a small starting team, and expansion driven by real volumes. We keep growing the network step by step, with decisions grounded in what our clients actually need.

If you're thinking about entering a new market

If you're an online merchant planning to enter a new market — Greece, the Balkans, Spain or a broader European network — we can help you do it without setting up your own warehouse, hiring a local team, or registering a company abroad. You start with a single shipment from your current warehouse to one of ours; from there we handle receiving, storage, order processing and last-mile delivery.
