How the integration between Magento and BigArena

Customer places an order
The buyer completes checkout in Magento. Pays (card, COD, wallet, credit/quote for B2B). Magento sets the order state to processing.
The extension catches the order
The installed BigArena Magento Extension listens to the sales_order_place_after event. It sends the order data to the BigArena platform over a secure API.
MSI selects the source, the fulfillment team handles it
The Multi-Source Inventory algorithm picks the best warehouse (closest to the shipping address, availability). The BigArena warehouse team picks, packs and hands the order to a courier.
Shipment + tracking sync back
BigArena creates the shipment in Magento via REST API with the tracking number, courier code and tracking URL. Magento sends the shipment confirmation email automatically.

We install the extension
We send the installation ZIP + install instructions. Standard Composer install (composer require bigarena/fulfillment-connector) or manual ZIP upload. bin/magento setup:upgrade activates the module.
You configure the API credentials + MSI sources
In the Magento admin go to Stores → Configuration → BigArena. Enter the API endpoint + key. We create BigArena inventory sources in Magento MSI for each of our warehouses.
Migration + go live
When migrating from another fulfillment provider - we export the unfulfilled orders, map the SKUs and sync inventory. We test with 5-10 orders. Then we go fully live with warehouse routing rules.

Which Magento versions does the extension work with?
Official support for Magento 2.3+ and every Adobe Commerce version. For Magento 1 (legacy) we can do it case by case via a custom API bridge - we do not recommend Magento 1 for new projects.
Does it work with Adobe Commerce Cloud?
Yes, fully compatible. The extension installs via Composer inside ACC like any other module. It works with all ACC infrastructure specifics (redis, varnish, elasticsearch).
Does it support the Magento B2B module?
Yes. Companies, negotiated pricing, quote-to-order flow - they all work with BigArena. Split shipments by company hierarchy are also supported for multi-buyer companies.
How is a multi-website setup handled?
Each Magento website can have its own BigArena inventory sources or shared ones. Routing rules decide which warehouse handles which order based on store view + shipping address.
Can I use Magento MSI in parallel with other fulfillment sources?
Yes. BigArena warehouses register as additional MSI sources. Your own warehouse stays as a company source. Magento picks the source automatically based on priority or available quantity.
How are returns handled in Magento?
The standard RMA flow in Magento (or a third-party RMA extension) notifies BigArena via an event. The warehouses inspect the returned goods and propagate the refund/return-to-stock decision back into Magento.
Does it work with PWA Studio / headless setup?
Yes. Everything happens at the API level. The PWA rendering layer is not involved in the fulfillment process - it just gets order status updates like any other Magento client.
How fast is the sync between Magento and BigArena?
Real-time via Magento events. Order → fulfillment task usually under 30 seconds. Shipment + tracking → back into Magento usually under 2 minutes.
Can I migrate from another fulfillment partner with no downtime?
Yes. We work in phases: first stock sync, then testing with 5-10 orders in parallel, then a full cutover. Typically 1-2 weeks with no service interruption.
Do you handle food, supplements and cosmetics?
Yes. All warehouses are BFSA-certified. We follow FIFO by expiry date and batch control - critical for regulated Magento B2B customers.
